Mission and Strategy

OUR MISSION

Established in 2014, the Maggie Beer Foundation is guided by the belief that, with help from so many committed people we can bring about life-altering change to the well-being of the elderly by having access to food full of flavour and nutrients.

Purpose

To extend and enrich the lives of older Australians by promoting healthy and tasty food

Mission

To inspire older Australians and those that support them to prepare and enjoy healthy, tasty food

Vision

MBF will lead an alliance of chefs, cooks, scientists, dietitians, philanthropists, corporations and organisations who have the experience, expertise, passion, and heart to improve the Quality of Life of older Australians through the joy of healthy, tasty foods

“It should be everyone’s right to have good food and I believe that no one group of people need it more. My hope is that every meal can give comfort and pleasure, always something to look forward to.

There is much work to be done but the journey is so exciting. There are those already doing brilliantly looking after the elderly and I wish to find them and reward them with kudos. For those in aged care homes not lucky enough to have leadership that understands the importance; the difference; that good food and the way it is delivered can make, we believe by working closely with those who wish to embrace the principals of the joy that food can bring, we can change lives.” MB

MBF Annual Report 2021

The latest Strategic Plan – Stage 3, 2021 document created by MBF Board Member is now available for public distribution. This plan charts a course to grow the influence of the MBF through the certification of food providers, by building skills and awareness of those preparing the food and in facilitating a research program to create the evidence that will drive policy and culture change for the benefit of older people in our community.
