As part of Tasting Australia, the Maggie Beer Foundation’s HomePlate Project is hosting a practical cooking session focused on simple, everyday meals.
Join Chef Mark McNamara on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at 10:00am for a live demonstration on how to prepare ‘meals for one person’. The session will be followed by a relaxed morning tea.

This short session will focus on making meals that are:

Chef Mark will also share practical tips to help build confidence in the kitchen and support everyday cooking at home.
Panel discussion
Following the cooking demonstration, Jane Mussared, CEO of the Maggie Beer Foundation, and Clare Fargher from the HomePlate Project will lead a panel discussion.
They will share early insights from the HomePlate Project, including how older Australians are experiencing food at home and what can support better everyday meals.
