The Maggie Beer Foundation continues to expand its work in supporting older people to eat well at home through the HomePlate Project, bringing together community members for an engaging panel discussion and live cooking demonstration.
The event explored practical ways to make cooking at home easier, from making the most of everyday kitchen appliances to adapting meals as needs change over time. The conversations reinforced that enjoying nutritious, flavour-filled food can remain achievable while maintaining independence.
A highlight of the day was the cooking demonstration by Maggie Beer Foundation Chef Mark and special guest Billy, who shared simple, delicious recipes designed to be recreated at home, leaving many attendees inspired to give them a try. Find the recipe here for our Soy Chicken & Vegetables here!
The Foundation thanks everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. Every conversation and shared experience helps shape the HomePlate Project as it explores new ways to support older people to enjoy good food and age well at home.
