Community Meals Pilot Training Program

We built this program with providers. Now we’re looking for three kitchens to put it to the test.

Across Australia, organisations delivering meals to older people are doing extraordinary work — often with small teams, tight timeframes and limited resources.

Through national consultation with providers, Meals on Wheels services and sector leaders, we asked a simple question: What would actually help? The answer wasn’t more theory. It was practical training, real-world tools and resources designed specifically for community meal services. So that’s what we created — together.

The Community Meals Pilot Training Program has been co-designed with the sector to support the people who plan, cook and deliver meals under Support at Home (SaH) and the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). Now we’re inviting three providers to partner with us to trial the program in their own kitchens, with their own teams.

As a pilot site, you won’t just receive tailored training and resources — you’ll help refine a program that is intended to support providers across Australia. Your feedback will shape how this training is delivered into the future.

If you’re passionate about improving meals for older people and want to help lead what comes next, we’d love to work with you.
