The Maggie Beer Foundation is very excited that Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) has just launched their Culinary Skills for Aged Care Food Service project, which aims to equip Chefs and Cooks with the specialised skills needed for aged care and similar settings.
This has been at the heart of the Foundation’s advocacy and we (along with other stakeholders) now look forward to providing practical input to the process to support our aged care cooks and chefs to have access to great vocational training.
We urge the sector to get involved by joining an information session, applying to join a technical committee, or providing feedback via a survey and interactive workshops.
We want training that reflects the realities of modern aged care kitchens, delivers improved nutrition and wellbeing outcomes for older Australians, and strengthens the future Hospitality workforce.
Visit the SaCSA website to learn more about the project and how to get involved.
