Kath Jenkins and Michelle Lago, two inspiring cooks who came to the Melbourne Masterclass in April 2019 from Moyola Aged Care Inc, Victoria.
We are so proud of all they have achieved and felt it too good not to share what they shared with us about how they have implemented change since attending….
“We have introduced the MBF porridge which has been a success, the residents are enjoying it very much. Our winter/spring menu is in place and we have included the pumpkin and sage bake, hearty bean soup, slow baked quince, honey ginger turmeric crème.
We have also looked at a better way to present our purée meals with better colour, taste and presentation which care staff and residents have commented on. Our community garden has had a face lift, the residents love been involved in what they are eating. We have planted a broccoli, silver beet, fresh herbs and much more which we are using in our meals.
Finger foods now features on our menu and daily we are making fresh slices, biscuits and cakes which the residents are really enjoying.
Once again I would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful presenters who opened our eyes at what we can provide through the appetite for life program for our wonderful residents.”
