The Maggie Beer Foundation’s Online Learning Modules provide short, practical training designed for people who prepare food for older Australians.

These bite-sized modules combine nutrition knowledge, cooking techniques and practical tips that can be applied immediately in the kitchen.

Whether you work in an aged care kitchen, prepare meals for delivery, or cook at home for a loved one, these modules help you build the confidence to prepare food that is delicious, nutritious and enjoyable.

All modules are free to access through the Maggie Beer Foundation learning platform. 

Who are the modules for?

Our modules are designed for a range of people involved in preparing food for older Australians.

  • Aged care cooks and chefs: Build practical skills to improve food quality, nutrition and dining experiences in residential aged care.
  • Aged care teams: Support kitchen teams, care staff and managers to better understand the role of food in resident wellbeing.
  • Community meal providers: Modules are also valuable for cooks and chefs preparing meals for delivery programs such as Meals on Wheels.
  • Older people and their families: One module has been designed specifically for older people living at home and their loved ones.

You can complete them individually or as part of your team’s professional development.

Each module includes:  

  • short video lessons, hosted by Maggie Beer, chatting and cooking with subject matter experts
  • an accompanying information pack with more information – and all the recipes
  • a short assessment quiz and certificate of completion.
